The King’s Cup
match-up with Almeria is bringing some fresh air to Celta Squad, as those
players with less or none minutes played in the league will have their
opportunity to prove wrong Celta’s Coach. And Herrera is wishing that to
happen, in the press conference, he admitted that all those players with fewer
minutes will be having their chance, and that he wishes them to shine on Wednesday
to give him more trouble when deciding who should play in the league.
All the 21
players available will be travelling to Almeria plus two players from the
Academy, Levy Madinda (Central Midfielder) and Johny Otto (Right Defender, who
has already played against Osasuna in the league) with both players with high
chances to have some minutes. Natxo Insa’s injury has forced Herrera to call
the Gabon International, and one of Celta’s Academy pearls.
Herrera also
admitted this is a very special match-up, as Almeria is one of the top teams in
the second division, with a philosophy of play very similar to Celta’s. But not
only will that, the winner of this eliminatory, face the winner of Alcoyano vs
Real Madrid, so the motivation is a little bit higher.
Park will most
likely start this game, which is not going to be televised by any channel, so
the only way to follow the game will be either radio or online play-by-play. Park
has been playing as a reserve for the last games, and if he is as recovered
from his injury as it seems, he will have probably 90 minutes to prove Herrera
that he is the striker that Celta is needing to materialize the chances that
they create.
In today’s
session, Park played as a striker in the practice game scheduled by Herrera,
teaming up with Bermejo, but it’s doubtful that this due will start against
Almeria, as the most likely formation will be De Lucas and Park. Park and De
Lucas can play together very well, with nearly no language barrier between the
two of them, as Quique de Lucas dominates English after his spell at Chelsea,
and this combination can be very productive.
I would like to
see Park pairing with Bermejo, as I think their work rate and team mentality
adjust better than with anyone else, but I guess that might happen another
time.
The team will be
travelling to Almeria tomorrow, and right after the game, they will fly to
Barcelona, where they will be training on Thursday and Friday before the game
against Barcelona. The team will not be back to Vigo until Sunday morning.
Thanks! 감사합니다! I hope Park score a goal or more. hahaha
