선수들의 불참이 있어도 셀타의 훈련을 멈출 수 없다. - 전체 리포트와 사진들

Celta will lock horns with CD Lugo in a friendly match scheduled for this afternoon at Balaidos. This match will let Paco Herrera evaluate the condition of those players that had played less or no minutes this season. It will be an interesting situation, as the lights will be on two players who want to see, but for two different reasons. Samuel Llorca is set to make his debut with the team in La Liga, something strange when you consider Celta paid 500.000 € for his transfer, but he never gained Herrera’s trust. On the other hand we have Joan Tomas, who has been out of the team since Park’s arrival, and already complained to the media about this situation. I have seen Joan lacking motivation on the training field, and this could be his last chance to prove he is first division material.

Today’s was a strange training session, as all the players that has been called up for the game against Lugo were not present at the session. Neither were MKD and Park, both with their National Team. But there were three more players who did not took part in the session: Toni Rodriguez, Andres Tunez and Quique De Lucas. This trio is still out due to different injuries, and have been taking some time off this week to recover properly with the physiotherapists.

This situation left Celta’s coach with just a few players to train with 7 field players and three goalkeepers, but with Varas not able to touch the ball with the hand.

The physical part of the training took place in the forest, because the training center is on the top of a hill, so Paco Herrera used the ramps to train endurance for 20 minutes. This always comes handy, as there are no media there, and they can train with privacy.

They returned to the training field to complete a pressing-passing game, with three players per team and two wildcards (counting Varas).

After today’s game, Paco Herrera has scheduled two more training sessions, for Thursday and Friday, before giving the players two days off, before returning to training next Monday to focus on the game against Real Madrid.

Celta’s Captain Borja Oubina stated “We have nothing to lose against Real Madrid, so we are going to play without pressure, and that will make us even more dangerous”. When asked about the possibility of losing by a big difference, Borja responded “I am as worried about getting a bag of goals as I am about giving them one”.

Spirit is still high for Celta, and they will need more than that if they want to bring some points from Santiago Bernabeu.
