Despite having scheduled two training session for Wednesday, and probably due to the heavy rain and wind Vigo is been suffering the last three days, they cancelled yesterday’s afternoon session.  But today it was a totally different story, the sun shined bright since minute 1.

This might be a sign of what to expect in Granada, and will allow the players get use to a hot temperature, because at 12:30 am in Granada there is a good chance to have a hot day under the sun.

The training session started with physical work, with special emphasis in speed and sprint, two of the weapons Celta has been showing as a visitor. Granada’s side defenders have a very attacking personality, and Celta must try to pay attention to this point. One way of doing is keeping the ball, and keep defenders on their marks. If Celta’s wingers win this battle there will be a lot gain both attacking and defensive wise. Paco Herrera was very clear about this, and asked the players to give it all several times.

He focused on ball control and move it quickly, as he expects Granada to play in a very similar way as Celta does.

The ball training had two different parts. The first one was conducted, as yesterday, I half of the pitch, and it was focused on shooting and crosses. Each player shooted at goal once, and then, immediately came a cross, first from the right and then from the left. At this point Park cleared any doubt about his possibilities to have his debut as a starter.

Regarding this, Paco Herrera nearly gives any hints about a possible line-up, and he rotated his three strikers during the last part of the training, that consisted in a half a pitch match. In this match he only played with a striker on each team, and Mario Bemejo, Iago Aspas and Park did turns to practice some solo shoots when either of them were not playing the game.

Two sad news during training as Toni twisted his ankle and will probably be out for a week pending on medical evaluation. He tried to continue, but Herrera told him to go after praising his attitude. Andres Tunez, that was set to complete the session, could not finish it, probably due to the injury he has been suffering lately. If Toni looks ruled out for the next game, nothing seems to stop Andres from taking part on it, because Paco Herrera has tremendous faith in him.

Park was very accurate during training and scored several goas, but what has the supporters amazed is the quality of his movements. He has a thing for losing his marker, and looks like a continuous threat to all defenders.

Yesterday it was official that Paco Herrera has been suspended for the next two games after being sent off on the match against Getafe. Celta may appeal this suspension, but it doesn’t look like Celta’s Coach will be able to sit on the Bench at Los Carmenes. That will mean Angel Rodriguez will be the one giving instructions to the players on the field. Is yet to be confirmed if Celta could get that ban reduced to just one game, but that is a possibility.
