Paco Herrera had
a new ally on the mist, as it was so thick it helped Celta’s Coach to prevent
anyone from seeing his attacking tactics.
The training
session was divided in two parts, the physical and the technical part, with the
physical part being present as well in the rest of the routines. But Celta’s coach left something pretty clear, and
that was that Celta needs to keep ball possession to be able to have a chance
against Real Madrid. When Celta players were playing the usual round game, Paco
Herrera insisted in the team defending to put a lot of pressure on the
attacking team, and Celta’s coach made them play in a very small piece of
terrain, to make his players be able to think fast either defending or
attacking.
During this part
of the training, Herrera insisted loudly that the only way to prevent Real Madrid
from hurting you is to not let them have the ball, and in order to do that,
Celta will have to put a lot of pressure on Real Madrid every time they have
the ball, with Iago Aspas being his first defender. In this training routine,
transition from defence to offense and vice versa was very important, as with
the speed of Celta Players, recovery and quick movement of the ball will be
crucial.
I cannot say
much on the attacking part of the training, because the thick did not let the
media see what was going on on the other side of the field, but this is the
first time in 8 days Celta trained shooting on goal, routine that the team will
probably resume the next three days before leaving for the game.
Varas did train
yesterday with his Goalkeepers colleagues, but not today, as it seemed he still
is not fully recovered from his injury, but his participation in Saturday’s
game seems granted. So it will be for Andres Tunez, who has completed two
training sessions without any kind of pain, and looks to be part of Celta’s Saturday’s
starting eleven.
The only two
absences, MKD and Park will be playing today with their respective nationals
teams, and will be back in training on Thursday, flying again on Friday with
the rest of the team.
